Leon Martin Joseph PLAMONDON

In the interest of public safety, the Calgary Police Service is issuing the following public information and warning in regards to the release of an inmate. Leon Martin Joseph PLAMONDON, 49, was released into the Calgary area today, Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, after having served a two year two month federal prison sentence.
PLAMONDON has a history of sexual assault and sexual interference against female children. He previously committed offences in the Alberta communities of St. Paul, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Vereville and Fort Saskatchewan, as well as in Belleville, Ontario, and St. Walburg, Saskatchewan.
He will now be monitored by the Calgary Police Service High Risk Offender Program on a Section 810.1 C.C. Peace Bond. PLAMONDON is described as Caucasian, 5’9” tall, approximately 220 lbs., with brown hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion. A photo of PLAMONDON is available at The City of Calgary Newsroom. The Calgary Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of the release of PLAMONDON. Members of the public are advised that the intent of the process is to enable members of the public to take suitable precautionary measures and not to embark on any form of vigilante action.
