Public information and warning: Violent sex offender released
In the interest of public safety, the Edmonton Police Service is issuing a warning about Gerald Albert Pomeroy, who was recently released from the Calgary Correctional Centre after completing a sentence for Sexual Assault.
Pomeroy is a sexual and violent offender who has sexually assaulted females under the age of 16. The Edmonton Police Service considers Pomeroy to be a high risk to re-offend sexually and violently particularly against females under the age of 16, or females he is involved with in an intimate relationship.
Pomeroy will be residing in the Edmonton area and will be monitored by detectives in the EPS Behavioural Assessment Unit.
The Edmonton Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community.
